The great news is, there are viable alternatives that fit most if not all of these criteria, and the pay is substantially better than data entry. They might require a tiny bit of brainpower and the faster you can type, the better you’ll do — but neither of these should be hurdles that are big enough to stop you from pursuing your work-at-home dreams.
“Working from home provides you great opportunities to connect with some of your core values, like family and community, while still providing quality service to your company,” says Shawn Mason Spence, an entrepreneur mentor, author, and life coach. “It requires discipline, focus and commitment, but the flexibility to define that yourself. You can create a work culture at home that represents you, not just the culture of your organization.”
This is not some faraway reality — because of the interconnectivity and vast information access allowed by the internet, a growing number of companies are offering partial or full work-at-home opportunities, in a variety of fields. The 13 companies on this list are hiring for roles from transcription to software engineering to athletic recruiting. So regardless of your skill set, one of these companies could be your ticket to never having to get out of bed to go to work again.
To counteract your social networks' ease of use during work hours, remove them from your browser shortcuts and, according to Fast Company, log out of every account. You might even consider working primarily in a private or, if you're using Chrome, an "Incognito" browser window. This ensures you stay signed out of all your accounts and each web search you conduct doesn't autocomplete the word you're typing. It's a guarantee that you won't be tempted into taking too many social breaks during the day.
Jobs that let you work from home, an arrangement known as telecommuting, are all the rage these days. According to a 2017 Gallup survey of more than 15,000 working adults, 43% of respondents said they spent at least some time in 2016 working remotely—four percentage points higher than in 2012. Not only are more people working from home, they’re also doing so more often: Of those surveyed, 31% worked from home four to five days per week, up from 24% in 2012.
A chaotic working schedule will eventually be discernible in your work. This is why you should strive to be as organized as you would if you would be working in an office. You might consider segmenting your day into specific parts, allocating the tasks you intend to complete within given hours. As you complete what you’ve set your mind to complete, you’ll have an endless sense of gratification and self-satisfaction. And this can be quite motivating – even when you’re working from home.
"Every client wants to know that they're special and getting your undivided attention," says Paul Edwards, coauthor of Working From Home (Tarcher/Putnam, 1999). "We live in a very competitive environment that's focused on customer service." So while your customers may tolerate the occasional tiny voice in the background, it's unreasonable to expect anyone to deal with constant interruptions.

Keep in mind though, you don’t need a website to do sponsored content since you can also get paid if you have a lot of social media followers. My wife has a pretty big Instagram following, and she gets all kinds of sponsorships. Not only does she get paid in cash, but we get a lot of free stuff, too. We’ve received free rugs, free lights, and free carpet cleaners. She only promotes things she loves though, so this strategy works really well for her.


"If I'm planning on working from home on a certain day, I'll make sure to get any work done ahead of time that requires me to be in the office -- for example, if I'm working on a task that would be infinitely easier to complete with access to my large monitor screen, or need to schedule meetings with coworkers that are best had in person. Plan out your week in advance to optimize for the environments you'll be in."
What isn't clear in the sales pitch is this: Once you've kept the CD-ROM for more than a few days, you start getting charged -- sometimes hundreds of dollars, just to have it in your possession. A lot of consumers who have fallen for this have reported difficulty in stopping the charges, and in returning the CD. It's a trap that's easy to fall into but hard to dig out of.

In an era of aging baby boomers and changing healthcare laws, medical coding and billing jobs offer relatively stable ways to make money from home. To qualify for medical coding jobs, you’ll need certification from one of the recognized national certification organizations. Inputting patient medical data, including doctors’ notes and diagnoses, with an extremely high degree of accuracy are the main tasks. What’s more, it’s time to get those list-making muscles in working order. Without face-to-face communication, it’s easy to let things slip through the cracks, so you’ll need to find ways to be as organized as possible. You might find that you like to write things down in a notebook, or perhaps you prefer calendar notifications. Find what works best for you to keep you organized and on task.

What you save in money will definitely cost you in time AND in order to succeed there is a certain number of hours required in preparation. No shortcuts! I could “amen” this post all day.
That’s the rub, Bloom says: Working from home is not for everyone, and to tell if you’re one of those everyone, do a quick systems check of your self-discipline. “If you can really concentrate at home, you’ll be more motivated than with someone standing over you with a stick,” Bloom says. If talking on the phone is not practical for you, you can still work a customer service job from home. Many of the same companies that hire call center agents, also hire chat agents. And in addition to these customer service chat jobs, there are other online chat jobs from home. These include answering questions, doing internet research, moderating in social media and more. 
I can vouch for that.  I’m working from home today and it’s no easy feat. I woke up, got dressed, powered on my laptop, and got to work—but it’s sometimes difficult to stay focused with so many distractions and temptations around me. I only work from home under special circumstances—maybe five or six times a year—but some do it more frequently, and others work out of their homes permanently. It’s not for everyone, though, and some do it more successfully than others.
