Abby made over $110,000 from sales of digital products (such as eBooks) in 2015, and even more than that in 2016. She started three years ago knowing nothing about blogging and now makes six figures a year, due in large part to her eBooks. She is now teaching others the process she uses to write and launch profitable eBooks, and you guys, it is genius!
But this is often a bait-and-switch scam. After you send in your $200 to get started in the rebate-processing business, you'll probably find out that what you've actually done is sign up to be an "affiliate marketer" for whatever product the company wants you to sell. If you sell something, then you get to process the rebate forms that your buyers send back in.So, yes, you will be processing rebates, but not quite in the way you envisioned. (By the way, the rebate money will come out of what you earned on your sales, so every time you process a rebate, you lose part of your earnings. Ouch.)

Sure, a corporate lawyer could easily start a mediating business, or a chef might strike out on her own as a caterer. But you should consider how your talents can take you in less expected directions as well. For instance, if you're a secretary with great people skills and a talent for turning chaos into order, you could easily be a freelance administrative assistant, but you could also be a great professional organizer -- two very different jobs that require similar skills.

Thank you Carly! I read this post about a month ago and took to heart what you have said here. I’m an industrial engineer by profession for over 16 years. However, when I married and came to the US with my husband, I have been a homemaker. Now I love this and I don’t miss being an industrial engineer, but I wanted to do more. After reading your post I started my own blog/review site. Since I’m doing very in-depth honest reviews, it takes time but I am enjoying it very much. I appreciate your site and just wanted to finally take a moment to tell you.
Go to Google Images, search “work from home” and behold the gallery of overdramatic somnolence that turns up. Look at these clowns, lounging in comfy pants, smiling with the kind of delirious enthusiasm you usually equate with someone plotting to capture Batman. We do not all look like that! The comfy pants part is usually right, but everything else is a lie.

The arrangement put me in more company than I realized. According to the 2010 census, 13.4 million people work from home at least one day per week, an increase of 35 percent (about 4 million people) in the last decade. (Fun fact: Boulder, Colorado, is the city with the highest percentage of home-based workers; Thursday is the least likely day to work from home.) More companies are adopting the policy, too: A 2015 study by the nonprofit human resources association WorldatWork and the work-from-home placement organization FlexJobs found that 80 percent of the companies surveyed offered flexible work options but only 37 percent of those were formalized. That means the other ones, the majority of them, were pretty much made up on the fly. A shift is happening in the work-from-home realm, but it’s not always an organized, official one. I blame this, as I do most things, on stock art.
How much will you make? I think my best month with Google AdSense was almost $5,000 over the last ten years. That amazing month blew my mind since it was actually near the beginning of my blogging journey. When you go from making zero to $5,000 in a month, that will rock your world. For me, it also got me even more excited because I knew there were other ways to monetize.
Don’t skimp on equipment. It’s important to make sure you have all the equipment you need to run your business, including a fast computer, a scanner, printer, copier and fax, and a reliable backup system, for starters, Kanarek says. The key to saving time and money on equipment is to know what you need, what you can do without, and where to find technical support. If your company provides the equipment, make sure they give you everything you need to properly conduct business.
Thank you for leaving that comment. It is so true that, like you, I think that one of the biggest reasons that anyone fail working from home is that they lack the discipline to allot the proper amount of time to getting the job done, whatever the job is. Unless those hours have been set for you by some outside entity, its a real push to give the time that it takes to be successful working from home. The distractions get in the way. Take care.
