4. Clickworker – Clickworker allows you to sign up and become part of a pool of folks who complete tasks for Clickworkers’ clients. Data entry is one of those tasks, and others include proofreading, copy editing, web research, surveys, and more. Once you sign up (for free), you fill out your profile and complete short assessments to demonstrate your abilities. The number of jobs available to you depend on how well you perform, and providing excellent work means your earnings will increase. You work your own schedule, they take care of invoicing, and you’re paid either monthly or weekly through PayPal.

But getting a call-center job isn't easy. "[T]he number of job applicants for home-based positions far exceeds the number of jobs available," note authors Kate Lister and Tom Harnish in Undress for Success. LiveOps, for example, receives more than 150,000 job applications a year. From that number, only about 4,500 people are hired. To make the grade you must be computer savvy, demonstrate a professional-sounding telephone manner, and have a quiet workspace (no barking dogs or noisy children). And, of course, you need your own computer, a high-speed connection, and perhaps a dedicated phone line. (For call center job leads, check out RatRaceRebellion.com and AlpineAccess.com.)
3. Birch Creek Communications – BCC periodically looks for people to do data entry; when they do, they’re looking for independent contractors just like everyone else. Pay is by the job and your performance, with their uppermost pay range going to those with consistent near-perfect accuracy. You can set whatever schedule you wish with them, but it looks like work is most widely available Monday through Friday on a corporate schedule.
Perhaps you’re raising kids and you’re committed to not using daycare. Maybe you’re a little older and can’t commit to a full-time job. Or you might be injured or disabled, making it difficult for you to leave your home each day. Whatever your reason is, if you’re stuck at home most of the day, you’ve probably thought about the income you could be making by taking a work-from-home job or running your own business.
Working from home has its share of rewards—many of them nonfinancial. For example, a five-second commute is great. But get rid of the mistaken idea that money will roll in while you're relaxing in your easy chair, eating popcorn and watching reruns. A work-at-home job requires real ... work! You're simply not likely to earn $1,300 a week while working just 15 hours. And for most people, a work-at-home job is going to involve some type of selling. So if you decide to pursue a work-at-home job, be realistic about the effort required, as well as the costs that will be incurred and the potential profit that can be made.
WOW, this post sums up exactly how I’ve been feeling lately. Being about 1 year into the internet marketing game I have found that time is definitely a critical asset. What you save in money will definitely cost you in time AND in order to succeed there is a certain number of hours required in preparation. No shortcuts! I could “amen” this post all day.

I may as well start with something I know well. When I started out as a freelance writer 20 years ago, things were very different. I wrote mostly for magazines, and I had to rely on snail mail to send out drafts and queries. I’d wait weeks for a response from my editors. Not many people had the patience for it, and few stuck around long enough to ever start earning a real income from it.

So, in this post, I'm digging into the benefits of remote work. I had the opportunity to chat with Sara Sutton Fell, the founder of Remote.co, 1 Million For Work Flexibility and FlexJobs, a job-hunting site for professionals seeking remote employment. Whether you're a business owner, employee or freelancer, here are the five key reasons Sutton Fell says working remotely (and/or taking remote jobs) might be the lifestyle choice that works best for you.

The Mythbusting is much appreciated. It’s a gold rush out there. WWW might stand for wild wild west. This article frames up the challenges and reminds us that it’s the reality on the ground that gets us up the mountain. A similar myth is the one about writers and riches. I found a good article by an old fantasy novelist and reworked it into a post you might enjoy. http://ow.ly/a6pn3
I agree you need to find a product you love. I promote Thrive for free because I love my results and I couldn’t stop sharing it. We are the number one health and wellness movement in North America. Yes, a movement! Thrive changes lives with weight management, immune support, joint support, sustained energy and the best sleep ever. Thrive is all-natural vitamins you feel working. You absolutely have to be available for questions at all times. The general rule of thumb is that you want to respond to questions within 1 hour. I know it seems harsh, but if you call a company, do you want them to call you back next week? Or do you want help now? Because I guarantee you, they'll just go somewhere else, buy from someone else, and you lost the sale. Likewise, always be professional and polite. There are times where you'll wanna slap someone.
What do I need for remote work? Generally the price of entry is a high-speed Internet connection, a phone line and a capable computer. Most people will have that anyway, so it’s not much of a price. Also, remote workers must learn and use software tailored to their work, which allows them to link into company networks, download and upload files, and attend chatroom meetings.
Tools. You don’t need much to work as a home-based freelance writer, but there are some tools that you must have. The most important will be your computer. Get the fastest Internet access that you can afford. It doesn’t matter what kind of computer you get. Just make sure you’re comfortable enough to spend a lot of time with it. Most clients will request that you submit your work as a Microsoft Word document, so make sure that whatever programs you use are compatible. In addition, because you’ll be spending so much time at the computer, make sure that you have a good work area with proper lighting. Some clients will want to be able to reach you by phone or Skype, so have both set up and accessible. You’ll need an invoicing program, such as Freshbooks, and a good bookkeeping system to keep track of sales, orders, and accounts receivables.
Obviously, I'm a huge fan of blogging, and here's why. First, you can write on any topic under the sun — so you'll always be working in a niche that you're passionate about and that you have experience in. Second, it only takes a couple of hundred dollars to get started (you'll need to purchase your domain name, web hosting, and a blogging theme). Third, you can monetize in a ton of different ways — which makes it easier to start generating money quickly.
In the course bio for a lifestyle course on Gratitude, Passion and Success, she says, “The journey is going to be fun (that is the ONLY way that I know to do things) and filled with real life solutions and tools. And even better, we will be accountable to each other! We are going to look in the rear view mirror and be amazed at how far we have come!”
Traveling Vineyard – Pop open opportunity and get ready to change your life one cork at a time. The only real requirement of this job: being awesome. It helps if you like wine, too. Other than that, the rest is easy peasy. Maybe you’re looking for a little extra spending money. Or maybe you just need a reason to get out of the house. Your reason for becoming a rock star Wine Guide is up to you. But the opportunity is all yours—all $30 billion of it. You ready? Let’s rock this dream.
Are you a fast and accurate typist? Do you have excellent listening skills? Then consider working from home as a freelance transcriber. Transcribers listen to audio files and convert them into text documents. Of course, you'll need to have excellent spelling and grammar for this position. If you've never done transcription work before, a training course can be helpful —here is one I recommend.
What It Is: Students in countries including Japan, Korea, France and Germany are looking for English speakers to practice with. Sessions focus on things like making professional small talk or running a meeting (trainers are provided with specifics on how to teach each topic, and are also trained themselves for two days before starting the job). Lessons take place either over the phone or on a live Internet video service like Skype — sometimes at night, because you're working with students in different time zones. You need to commit to a minimum of 20 hours a week at consistent times, and can work as many as 35 hours.

Survey Junkie is among the most straightforward survey sites out there, which puts them at the top of this list. All you have to do is sign up to be eligible for surveys. Once you complete a survey you earn a certain amount of points that you can exchange for cash paid directly to a PayPal account or you can redeem your points for gift cards. Super simple.

I can’t say that we’ve gotten rich off of it,  but it helps pay the bills.  It’s daily traffic rivals and surpasses that of established news media outlets in our market, and we’ve brought on board some award-winning journalists in recent years.  It’s also gotten us other opportunities over the years, such as press passes to concerts and sporting events, chances to test out new products or listen to unreleased CDs, and so on.
“In a remote work environment, there is a need to really be an independent worker,” Reynolds said. “You probably still interact with your manager and co-workers, but that hour-to-hour basis, the day-to-day basis, that really is up to you to keep on track.” If you do your best work where you’re reporting your progress throughout the day and getting new tasks from your boss, working at home might not be a good fit.

There are several ways to make money from your car such as taxiing people, renting your car, or advertising businesses. Run the numbers before using your car to make money, especially if you're driving more than usual because it might cost more than you earn to use your car as a money-maker. Factor in depreciation, wear and tear, and gas expenses when you decide if driving is a cost-effective way to make extra money.

How to Get It: GoFluent.com is an English training company working with 12 of the world's largest corporations. There are also jobs out there for English as a Second Language (ESL) teachers, which are more structured. Visit ISUS (iSpeakUSpeak.com), a placement and training company. While a degree in education or ESL is ideal, you are encouraged to apply if you are enthusiastic and articulate.
Anecdotally, most people I talked to spoke highly of their routines. Rosso heads out each morning for an (Italian) coffee. “For the first six months, I didn’t do that, and I suffered. It’s good to have a mental reset and sit down to work.” Sutton Fell simply acts like it’s an office workday. She has a dedicated office space above her garage. She keeps regular hours—8 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays, with some breaks for lunch and playing with the kids after school. She makes allowances for life stuff, “whether it’s a doctor’s appointment, a plumber coming by the house, a babysitter snafu or the need for a yoga class.” And she takes advantage of the perks, like hitting up her backyard veggie garden for lunch and volunteering for class parties and field trips.
Remembering or writing down passwords? That’s for the birds. Tools like Dashlane fill them in for you automatically. Want to send out electronically signed contracts? There’s an online tool for that. Want to schedule a meeting with 20 or more people? There’s an app that will match up their schedules and find times. There’s even a tool that connects and integrates those two tools I just mentioned, along with hundreds of other tools.
Fusion Cash is an online platform that allows you to make money from taking surveys, watching videos, shopping, completing short tasks, and much more. Sign up and immediately earn $5.00 just for joining. Most offers pay between .25 to $30 per offer, and payments are made via PayPal, check, or direct deposit once your account reaches a $25 threshold. Some offers do require a credit card number, so if you don’t feel comfortable giving out that information, just stick to the offers which display the No CC icon. Fusion Cash is a member of the Better Business Bureau.
That goes for neighbors who insist on dropping by to chat during working hours as well as volunteer recruiters who assume that just because you're home, you're available. Sure, working at home gives you the flexibility to, say, help out at school regularly, but unless you pick and choose your activities, you may find yourself volunteering full-time. You're better off making a specific commitment and then fitting it into your schedule on a regular basis.
Success in direct sales, therefore, requires sales talent, product-line knowledge, and the ability to keep track of the administrative side of the selling process. Those most apt to do well are detailed-oriented people with outgoing personalities. Further, in a multi-level business, becoming highly successful requires knowing how to recruit, mentor, and motivate other salespeople.
Cash4Books is an online portal where you can sell new and used books. Grab your books and head to the website, here you’ll be able to enter each book’s ISBN, which is a 10 or 13 digit number that can be found on the back cover or inside the front cover of almost all books. Once you have entered each code, you’ll receive a quote for each book. Next, send your books in with a pre-paid shipping label. Once they receive your books, you’ll be paid either via check or PayPal.
Although very little data are available for this work-at-home job since it is relatively new, thousands of listings for social media managers can be found on sites like CareerBuilder.com, SimplyHired.com, and Upwork.com. If you have a demonstrated command of social media and a sizable following, you might even be able to get started by reaching out to companies directly and asking if they need help.

It’s no secret: getting out of bed to go to work in the morning is hard. Traffic jams, metro delays, and the daily grind of an office routine can all seriously detract from our excitement to show up at the job every day. But what if you didn’t have to show up at the job every day? What if you didn’t even have to get out of bed in the morning in order to be a productive contributor to your company?

Routine tasks like booking travel arrangements and answering emails can become overwhelming. Virtual assistants step in to take on a variety of daily tasks. They can work for a variety of clients such as, executives, small business owners, and journalists. They perform administrative and clerical tasks. All a virtual assistant really needs is a secure internet connection.
Say someone has 500 pieces of clothing, nothing is separated into sizes, you break up the lot, sell it by size and make a lot of money. There were times where I'd even pay $15-$20 for a huge lot and make back $200. Same thing with eBay. If you have a mannequin, you could start selling them piece by piece and get a lot more than that. It just depends on how much time you have.
Sites like CookApp, Cookening, EatWith and MealSharing are to restaurants what Airbnb is to hotels. Sign up as a host to earn dough by cooking and serving a meal to guests in your home. It's up to you what you want to cook and how many people you can accommodate. Cooks are paid directly through the site, so no cash ever changes hands. Earning potential: $50-$100 per meal
“It is often a challenge in the beginning because of the sudden lack of buzz that typifies a traditional office environment,” says Lynn Taylor, a national workplace expert and author of Tame Your Terrible Office Tyrant. But once you're on the phone, engaged in your business, attending meetings, using videoconferencing and making a proactive effort to create your own business community, that isolation is typically overcome, she says.
